2X Global Launches Forward looking Climate and Gender Handbook for Investors

Investors, particularly those working at the nexus of climate and gender finance, now have a new resource to help inform and guide them.

At its recently concluded Annual Member Meeting in Luxembourg, 2X Global launched Envisioning Fair Futures, a handbook dedicated to exploring future scenarios at the intersection of gender and climate.

The publication, produced in collaboration with Kite Insights, goes 20 years into the future to outline four different climate and gender scenarios and political factors, and illustrates how investors’ decisions now can shape the environmental and social future in which their investments will happen.

Sana Kapadia, 2X Global’s Director of Strategy, elaborated on the intent and the ways in which the handbook can be used.

“Investment is by its definition and intention, about the future. The four scenarios outlined in the handbook are meant to facilitate visualisation and spark deeper interrogation about the future and the impact that current investing strategies and approaches can have,” said Kapadia.

The handbook sketches out four hypothetical but plausible (or even in-motion) futures, grounded in known gender and climate context, and political factors, to help investors explore how they might respond to future conditions and understand the power, potential and opportunity of their actions.

The publication was produced with support from The Wallace Global Fund, the Laudes Foundation, the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF), and the Roy and Patricia Disney Foundation (RPDFF).
