A New Chapter as 2X Global Welcomes New Board Chair

We are honoured to mark a new chapter in our journey as our first board Chair, Sukhvir Basran, hands over the baton of leadership to the new Chair of our Board of Directors, Dr Kshama Fernandes.
Kshama, who has been appointed for the period 2025 to 2027, is a familiar face and voice as she has served over the past three years as an independent board member of 2X Global - first on our inaugural board and now on our current governing board.
As we welcome Kshama into this position of stewardship, we extend our deepest gratitude to Sukhvir Basran, our outgoing Chair. Sukhvir led with clarity and a deep generosity with her expertise, during a formative time for our organisation.

Her knowledge and insight helped lay the foundation for the building of a strong governance structure for 2X Global, one aligned with international best practice. Her expert legal counsel was invaluable in shaping the 2X Certification programme, and she notably represented 2X Global at high-level events, including those attended by global heads of state. Under her leadership, 2X Global has not only grown stronger — it has grown more connected, intentional, and ready for the road ahead.
We are profoundly grateful to Sukhvir for her service, and equally excited for the continued contributions she will continue to make as she continues as a valued board member and friend to the 2X Global community.
As we look ahead, we are looking forward to 2X Global’s community being the beneficiaries of the energy, expertise and unique perspective which Kshama will bring to her new role.
With a distinguished career spanning finance, impact investing, and economic development, she brings a blend of strategic insight and hands-on experience to the helm.
Currently the Chairperson of Northern Arc Investment Managers, Kshama has long championed financial inclusion and gender equity, anchoring her leadership in both purpose and pragmatism.
She has been recognised globally as one of the most influential women in impact investing and is widely respected for her thoughtfulness, tenacity, and unwavering focus on building equitable systems.
